Leadership Pittsburgh XXV- Leader to Leader Conversations About Violence in Our Community

As part of their Leadership Pittsburgh experience, members of LP XXV are engaged in small Learning Groups which provide opportunities for them to delve into critical community issues and challenges and consider their leadership responses. Throughout the month of October, Learning Groups are focusing on the issue of violence in our community through facilitated leader-to-leader conversations with Community Outreach Coordinators from One Vision One Life (OVOL, Executive Director Richard Garland, LP XVI). OVOL works in targeted communities in Pittsburgh to reduce or eliminate violence. These conversations, which are being captured on video, will serve as the foundation for their Human Services Session in December 2008. This work will also generate audio segments to support a 2- to 3-part radio series for the Center for Victims of Violence and Crime's "Peace It Together Pittsburgh" radio show.
