Leadership OnBoard Stories of Knowledge

An Occasional Leadership Log Feature

Lee Borelli, LDI XV, LOB X, Senior Associate/Client Development, Mercer Human Resource Consulting, shares this piece of knowledge about her Leadership OnBoard experience with the Children's Museum:

"I would not be a Board member of the Children's Museum without LDI and Leadership OnBoard. One of the best LDI sessions we had was all about being on a board, responsibilities, procedures, best practices, and we were able to meet with various local organizations about what it would be like to serve on their board. I decided to apply to the Children's Museum, and when I was accepted I took the position seriously, knowing I was fortunate to be working with such a wonderful organization. I attended each of the meetings and even joined a fundraising committee. At the
end of my term, I was asked to join the Board as a full member. I am grateful to LDI--my LOB experience opened that door for me and now I can work with an organization I really believe in."
