Leadership Pittsburgh XXVI Public Education Session

On Thursday, January 14, 2010, the participants in Leadership Pittsburgh XXVI engaged in their Public Education Session, hosted by Point Park University. The day offered LP XXVI opportunities to identify and examine the challenges facing education in our region through the lens of special education, from key public policy debates to important legal issues. The session also marked the launch of LP XXVI's new Learning Group Projects, supported by The Grable Foundation, focused on engaging class members in building, boosting or engaging the voice of youth served by special education in our region or influencing, persuading or informing a larger audience to do so. Planning and implementation of these projects will take place between now and December 2010, offering the class significant opportunities to work together both as LP participants and as Graduates to lead our region.
